About Us

Those Delta Rhythm Kings: Groovy “little big band” jump blues from the the 1940's and beyond. They personify the party-time culture that was so popular in post-war America. Founded in 1988 and based in Lansing, Michigan, they've performed coast-to-coast in Michigan, into Canada and as far south as Memphis. They've played a host of club gigs and festivals, have backed the great James Harman and have opened shows for Roomful of Blues, Mark Hummel, Rod Piazza, Bobby Rush, Pat Benatar and many others.

The band's recordings have received radio play across the country and in Europe and garnered many accolades. Their brand of horn-driven blues appeals to music lovers of all ages. Members include Ray Aleshire on vocals, Rod Aleshire on bass, and John Davidson on guitar, George Hirai, Chad Bement and Janell Christie on saxes, Andy Wilson on trumpet and harmonica and Jeff Shoup on drums.
